The Project Control Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all project control activities for the project. This role requires strong analytical skills, project management expertise, and industry experience to ensure effective planning, monitoring, and control of project schedules, costs, and resources to achieve project objectives.

 

Position details:

 

Type: Contract (initially 1 year with possibility of extension) (single status)

Primary purpose: The Project Control Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all project control activities for the project. This role requires strong analytical skills, project management expertise, and industry experience to ensure effective planning, monitoring, and control of project schedules, costs, and resources to achieve project objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Project Planning: Develop and implement project control plans, schedules, and strategies, coordinating with project teams to establish project baselines and milestones.

Schedule Management: Develop and maintain project schedules, using scheduling software and tools to monitor progress, identify critical paths, and assess schedule impacts.

Cost Management: Develop and manage project budgets, tracking costs, expenditures, and variances, conducting cost forecasting and analysis to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.

Resource Management: Monitor and manage project resources, including labour, equipment, and materials, ensuring optimal resource allocation and utilization to support project activities.

Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, implementing risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize disruptions and maintain project success.

Change Management: Manage project changes, variations, and scope creep, assessing their impact on project schedules, costs, and resources, and implementing change control procedures as necessary.

Performance Monitoring: Monitor project performance metrics, KPIs, and key milestones, conducting performance analysis and reporting to project management and stakeholders.

Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC): Implement QA/QC processes and procedures to monitor and evaluate project deliverables, ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality requirements.

Document Control: Establish and maintain project documentation and records, including project plans, schedules, reports, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and accessibility.

Communication and Coordination: Facilitate communication and coordination among project teams, stakeholders, and subcontractors, ensuring alignment and collaboration to achieve project objectives.

 

Location: Mozambique, East Africa

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).

Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in project controls or project management roles, with exposure to marine, civil, infrastructure, EPC, oil & gas, and/or mining projects.

Experience working on large-scale industrial projects is preferred.

Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices, with proficiency in project control processes and tools.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex project data and trends.

Proficiency in project management software and tools, scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project), and MS Office suite.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
