Primary purpose of current/most recent position:

To ensure plant availability on a 24 hour operational basis, to provide Instrumentation, Electronics and IT infrastructure maintenance and support throughout the whole plant, issues ranged from software to hardware and vice versa. To provide Instrumentation solutions in terms of control, monitoring and reporting including safety and high efficiency in production output.

Core elements or functions that must operate effectively in order to achieve primary purpose:

Perform preventative maintenance by walkabouts and inspections, to install monitoring devices to provide real time data, to ensure the plant has a smooth communication in the plants and between other plants, to ensure that ERP systems retrieve correct and precise data from production, to ensure that quality is not compromised before, during and after production by using control systems and closed loops systems and by ensuring that instruments are calibrated to provide accurate data.

Description of self, along with greater purpose and passions:

I believe in assisting people and working as a team to achieve an objective. Even when I'm given a project, I seek advise and inputs from people from different disciplines and departments in order to provide a solution that is both easy to use and that most people are familiar with. I always want the person I'm assisting to be a part of the solution, learning from each other. As an engineering professional we don't often operate the machines we fix but someone who works on it everyday can have a different effect on how you help them and have an idea of how to solve the particular problem.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities of ideal position:

To provide a service and solutions with regards to Instrumentation and Electronics.

Skill area of competence:

Fault finding, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, advise to different departments on how to handle process, quality control throughout the whole plant, prioritisation and organisational, communication and reporting.

Career summary:

1 year six months in Glass manufacturing, working in the batch, furnace, cullet, forming, inspection, decoration and packaging plants including Melting and Quality Assurance labs.
