The primary purpose is to improved profitability of the business by implementing and managing cost reduction and price containment strategies. Monitor the use of spare parts, maintenance supplies and stock levels by checking that correct spares and materials are available as and when needed, procuring the critical parts and maintain minimum stock levels. Identify and recommend negotiation opportunities i.e. cost benefits, terms etc.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities of ideal position:
The key responsibilities are to ensure the effective management of procurement policies, procedures and practices. Ensuring availability of maintenance part and accessories at all time.
Skill area of competence:
I have 8years as Technical Buyer for a printing division company listed on the JSE as Novus Holdings. Responsible for sourcing spares for printing presses and all general procurement functions in the Gauteng Plant. Prior I was a Logistics supervisor at Sandvik, I was in charge of logistics functions servicing the Great Basin Gold Burnstone mine. Responsible for expediting of spares, managing stock in the maintenance store. Managing the engineering buyer and stores personnel in their daily duties. I have also worked as Materials Controller in the construction of 6x boilers with total generating capacity of 5,400 megawatts at Kusile Power station project in Witbank. Responsible for supervising materials team and the bag & tagging of material for supply to construction. Receiving and locating material to the different lay down areas in the construction site and interpret building drawing for issuing to construction. Iïve worked for Aspen Pharmacare as an Engineering Buyer/Store man reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager, working closely with the engineering team. I was the buyer for engineering spares and responsible for scheduling components to be sent to service providers for engineering and maintenance jobs. I was in charge of coordinating and controlling the engineering stores. Prior to that I worked for Inergy Automotive Systems as a Stores Controller, controlling all logistics functions within the Uitenhage assembly plant. I had store men as my subordinates. While working in logistics/ stores and stock management I have been servicing the production and engineering departments in automotive, pharmaceutical, mining and construction industries. I am computer literate in MS Office, Sage 300 ERP, Accpac, eWorkflow, JDE, Baan, Syspro, SAP, Maximo, Aurora Through my learning and working experience I have acquired time management, problem resolution, valuing diversity and leadership skills.

In my recent roles a have been working as support role to operational maintenance and get inspired when we all work together and achieve the ultimate goals, whether it is to resolve a complex machinery breakdown on giving the necessary support to get operations department to achieve the shared goal.
