Location: Stellenbosch & Cape Town (relocation assistance provided)
Travel Requirements: Minimal, primarily local to project sites in South Africa

Job Description / Core Competencies:
Lead the design, development, and integration of mechanical systems for an innovative construction automation technology.
Collaborate with a contracted engineering firm to translate project vision into a high-performance machine.Integrate robotics, large-scale motion systems, and structural components into advanced mechanical assemblies.
Drive technical decision-making from concept through to deployment.Oversee prototyping, testing, and on-site commissioning to ensure seamless performance.
Work closely with software, control, and automation teams for full system integration.Ensure compliance with safety, performance, and quality standards.
Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
BEng or BSc in Mechanical Engineering, master’s degree preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design within mining, heavy machinery, or large industrial equipment sectors.
Proven track record working with complex, large-scale mechanical systems.Proficiency in CAD and FEA software (e.g. SolidWorks, Inventor, ANSYS).Familiarity with robotics, automation, and manufacturing integration.Strong leadership, project management, problem solving, and cross-disciplinary communication skills.
Dynamic, energetic, and positive attitude
Willingness to relocate to the Cape Town or Stellenbosch area.
