Our Story & Cullinan Heritage
The Brandbach Farm has deep roots dating back to the mid-1800s when the Malan family were among the first European settlers in the area. Originally an agricultural property and later home to the renowned Brandbach Stud, Hennie Prinsloo founded the Brandbach Warmblood Stud here in 1979. In February 2022, Enshrine Holdings acquired the 42-hectare property and transformed it into a regenerative retreat while preserving its historic character. Enshrine Placements proudly operates the retreat as a conservation-focused regenerative wetlands destination.

We operate Brandbach as a regenerative tourism destination with 100% solar power, rotational grazing horses, wetland rehabilitation, chemical-free land management, and sustainable aquaculture.

Note on charging:Tents have no individual electrical points — this is intentional for a true digital detox experience. Guests can charge phones and devices only at the shared kitchen outlet serving the tents. One light per tent is available, but we encourage you to enjoy the natural surroundings without constant screen time.

A portion of every retreat booking and 10 % of every successful Enshrine Placements placement fee is automatically directed toward the ongoing restoration and protection of the Brandbach Wetlands Conservation Project, including our 20 bee hives.
