The Senior Foreman will play a key role in overseeing and coordinating construction activities for the project. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on experience to lead construction teams and deliver successful outcomes according to project specifications and requirements.

Type: Contract (initially 1 year with possibility of extension) (single status)
Primary purpose: The Senior Foreman will play a key role in overseeing and coordinating construction activities for the project. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on experience to lead construction teams and deliver successful outcomes according to project specifications and requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Construction Supervision: Supervise and coordinate construction activities, ensuring adherence to project schedules, specifications, and quality standards.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor construction crews, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
Resource Management: Manage construction resources, including labour, equipment, and materials, to support construction activities and meet project requirements.
Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance: Enforce HSE policies and procedures, conduct regular safety inspections, and promote a culture of safety among construction teams.
Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC): Implement QA/QC processes and procedures to monitor and evaluate construction work, ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality requirements.
Coordination: Coordinate with project management, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow and timely resolution of construction issues.
Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor construction progress, productivity, and performance, providing regular updates and reports to project management and stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: Identify and address construction challenges, obstacles, and conflicts, implementing effective solutions to keep construction activities on track.
Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and support to construction crews, resolving technical issues, and addressing design changes or modifications as required.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and best practices to enhance construction performance and outcomes.
Location: Mozambique, East Africa
Qualifications and Experience:
Diploma or certification in a relevant trade or field (e.g., construction, engineering, etc.).
Minimum of 10 years of experience as a foreman or in a similar supervisory role, with demonstrated experience in marine, civil, infrastructure, EPC, oil & gas, and/or mining projects.
Hands-on experience in construction activities, with proficiency in construction techniques, methods, and practices.
Strong understanding of HSE standards and regulations, with a commitment to promoting a culture of safety on construction sites.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate construction teams.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
Willingness to travel and work in remote or challenging environments as required by project assignments.
