The Surveyor will be responsible for conducting surveying activities for the projects. This role requires strong technical expertise in surveying techniques and equipment, as well as experience working on large-scale industrial projects to ensure accurate and reliable survey data for project planning, design, and construction activities.

 

Job details:

 

Type: Contract (initially 1 year with possibility of extension) (single status)

Primary purpose: The Surveyor will be responsible for conducting surveying activities for the projects. This role requires strong technical expertise in surveying techniques and equipment, as well as experience working on large-scale industrial projects to ensure accurate and reliable survey data for project planning, design, and construction activities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Survey Planning and Execution: Plan and conduct surveying activities, including topographic surveys, boundary surveys, construction layout surveys, and as-built surveys, to support project development, design, and construction.

Field Surveying: Perform field surveys using total stations, GPS equipment, and other surveying instruments to collect accurate and reliable survey data for project requirements.

Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analyze survey data, prepare survey reports, maps, and drawings, and interpret survey results to support project planning, design, and decision-making.

Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC): Implement QA/QC processes and procedures to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of survey data and deliverables.

Coordination: Coordinate surveying activities with project teams, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure survey requirements are met and integrated into project execution.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to surveying activities, including land use regulations, environmental regulations, and safety standards.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date survey records, documentation, and reports, and provide regular updates to project management and stakeholders.

Equipment Maintenance: Maintain surveying equipment, calibrate instruments, and perform routine maintenance to ensure equipment is in good working condition and meets project requirements.

Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance: Adhere to HSE policies and procedures, conduct surveys in a safe manner, and promote a culture of safety among surveying teams and subcontractors.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and innovation to enhance surveying performance and deliver value to projects.

 

Location: Mozambique, East Africa

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

Bachelor's degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in surveying roles, with a focus on marine, civil, infrastructure, EPC, oil & gas, and/or mining projects.

Proficiency in surveying techniques, methodologies, and equipment, including total stations, GPS, and GIS software.

Strong understanding of surveying principles, regulations, and best practices, with experience working on large-scale industrial projects.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

Proficiency in surveying software and tools, as well as MS Office suite.

Commitment to upholding safety, quality, and environmental standards in surveying activities.

Willingness to travel and work in remote or challenging environments as required by project assignments.
