Primary purpose: The Commercial Manager will be responsible for managing all commercial aspects of the projects. This role requires strong business acumen, negotiation skills, and industry experience to ensure successful project execution, contract management, and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Management: Manage all aspects of contracts, including negotiation, drafting, review, and administration, to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project requirements.
Commercial Strategy: Develop and implement commercial strategies, pricing models, and risk management plans to optimize project profitability and mitigate commercial risks.
Bid Management: Lead the bid management process, including tender preparation, proposal development, and contract negotiation, to secure new business opportunities and contracts.
Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to support business development efforts and ensure client satisfaction.
Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for projects, monitoring project costs, expenditures, and financial performance to achieve profitability targets.
Change Management: Manage change orders, variations, and claims, negotiating favorable outcomes and minimizing commercial disputes to protect project interests and profitability.
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial risks, implementing strategies to minimize exposure and maximize project success.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements, including procurement regulations, tax laws, and industry standards.
Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports, variance analysis, and project performance metrics, providing regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.
Dispute Resolution: Facilitate dispute resolution processes, including mediation, arbitration, and litigation, to resolve commercial disputes and protect project interests.

Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, law, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial management roles, with a focus on marine, civil, infrastructure, EPC, oil & gas, and/or mining projects.
Demonstrated experience working large-scale industrial projects.
Strong understanding of commercial principles, contract law, and risk management concepts, with experience negotiating complex contracts and agreements.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, with the ability to analyze project costs, expenditures, and financial performance.
Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in the energy, construction, and engineering industries.
Proficiency in contract management software and tools, as well as MS Office suite.
