Primary purpose: The Buyer will be responsible for procuring materials, equipment, and services for the project. This role requires strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and industry experience to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement in support of project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Identification: Identify and research potential suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors, evaluating their capabilities, reliability, and suitability to meet project requirements.
Sourcing and Bid Management: Source materials, equipment, and services through RFQs, RFPs, and tenders, managing the bid process from initiation to contract award.
Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure favourable agreements and achieve cost savings.
Purchase Order Management: Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications and requirements.
Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors, fostering collaboration, communication, and continuous improvement.
Contract Compliance: Monitor supplier performance and contract compliance, addressing any issues or deviations from agreed-upon terms and conditions.
Expediting: Coordinate with suppliers and logistics teams to expedite deliveries, track shipment status, and resolve any delivery delays or discrepancies.
Cost Management: Monitor project budgets, costs, and expenditures related to procurement activities, identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimizing procurement spend.
Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC): Ensure the quality and reliability of procured materials, equipment, and services meet project specifications and requirements.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records, documentation, and reports, providing regular updates to project management and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement or buying roles, with exposure to marine, civil, infrastructure, EPC, oil & gas, and/or mining projects.
Experience working on large-scale industrial projects is preferred.
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with suppliers, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
Proficiency in procurement processes, sourcing techniques, and bid management.
Attention to detail and accuracy in procurement activities, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as MS Office suite.
Commitment to upholding ethical standards and promoting a culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability.
