The QA Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all quality assurance activities for the project. This role requires strong leadership, quality management expertise, and industry experience to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Type: Contract (initially 1 year with possibility of extension) (single status)

Primary purpose: The QA Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all quality assurance activities for the project. This role requires strong leadership, quality management expertise, and industry experience to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

 

Key Responsibilities:

QA Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement QA strategies, policies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with project objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Quality Management System (QMS): Establish and maintain a QMS for the project, including documentation control, quality audits, non-conformance management, and corrective/preventive actions.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards, specifications, codes, and regulations, including ISO 9001, API Q1/Q2, ASME, and other relevant standards.

Quality Planning: Develop quality plans, inspection, and test plans (ITPs), and quality control plans (QCPs) for project activities, ensuring quality requirements are integrated into project execution.

Supplier Quality Management: Manage supplier quality performance, conducting supplier audits, assessments, and approvals to ensure compliance with quality requirements and standards.

Quality Inspections and Audits: Conduct quality inspections, audits, and surveillances of project activities, subcontractors, and suppliers to verify compliance with quality requirements and standards.

Quality Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver quality training programs and initiatives for project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders, promoting a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement.

Non-Conformance Management: Manage non-conformances and quality issues, conducting root cause analysis, implementing corrective and preventive actions, and tracking effectiveness to prevent recurrence.

Document Control: Establish and maintain document control processes for project documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and accessibility of quality records and documentation.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for quality improvement, innovation, and best practices, implementing initiatives to enhance quality performance and project outcomes.

 

Location: Mozambique, East Africa

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in QA management roles, with exposure to marine, civil, infrastructure, EPC, oil & gas, and/or mining projects.

Experience working on large-scale industrial projects is preferred.

Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) are desirable.

Strong understanding of quality management principles, methodologies, and best practices, with proficiency in quality management systems (QMS) and standards.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.

Proficiency in quality management software and tools, as well as MS Office suite.

Commitment to upholding ethical standards and promoting a culture of integrity, quality excellence, and continuous improvement.
