Primary purpose of current/most recent position:
I currently look after 2 factories in the company and I am responsible to assist both factories in their financial management and system controls.
I am reporting to the Finance Director and business partner both factories' Leaders.
We ensure that budgets/forecast are accurately set and controlled.
Ensure there is continuous cost savings initiatives to drive down cost and improve profitability.
We ensure stock count are done in accordance with the set standard controls and any deviation are followed up on.
We work with external auditors during the audit period.
Operational controls are of importance to us, we drive cost efficiencies and reduction of wasteful expenditures.
We assist in evaluation of the cost impact of any projects that are being requested CAPEX for.
We need to ensure that there is return on investment for the business.
We also drive the cost savings projects and ensuring line managers keep to their promises on savings. We track progress on a weekly and monthly basis.
Core elements or functions that must operate effectively in order to achieve primary purpose:
Factory leads must understand and know their financial targets for the year ahead.
Factory Managers must have financial targets as part of their measurable targets for the year ahead.
Full understanding of the financials by Factory and people responsible for managing those finances.
Controls financial and otherwise must be of top priority. Negligence and ignorance of controls must not be tolerated.

Cost reduction through wastage management, ensuring that wastage or stock losses are reduced to assist improve profitability.
Projects evaluate and management ensuring that there is feasible return on investment.
Unpacking for the business the cost drivers of each of the product produced or sold, how best to maximise profitability and having the best product mix.
