Primary purpose of current/most recent position:
Service, monitor and maintain decentralised water and wastewater treatment plants. This includes the management of laboratory operations to test water and wastewater samples to confirm compliance. In cases where compliance is not met, I am required to stratigise and implement corrective actions, whilst mitigating any non-compliance risks until compliance is achieved.
Core elements or functions that must operate effectively in order to achieve primary purpose:
-scheduling periodic service and monitoring programs for individual treatment plants and adhering to schedule -upholding laboratory testing quality through validation and verification programs, e.g. SABS proficiency testing scheme, implementing ISO 9001 principles, interlaboratory testing -recording all information gathered on-site in a traceable and confidential system, and continuous reporting to company director and clients directly

Key responsibilities and accountabilities of ideal position:
Research and development, design, testing and implementation of water and wastewater treatment systems for private and public sector. Ideally managing a R&D process laboratory, where treatment processes are designed and tested as bench-top models and pilot scale plants. Providing customised, low maintenance, user-friendly, robust systems and solutions for clients.
Skill area of competence:
-water laboratory analysis/testing -SANAS/SABS/ISO 9001 quality/compliance control and assurance -report writing and manual drafting -technical/on-site problem solving, preventative and reactive maintenance -service, maintenance, inspection and monitoring decentralised water and wastewater treatment plants -electrical control panel assembly and wiring -payroll and basic accounting, SARS submissions
