Primary purpose of current/most recent position:
Ensuring overall safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of goods and optimum efficient work flow of the warehouse. Maintains and oversees receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations. Maintaining compliance to warehousing requirements (ISO, OHSA) and advising management on needed actions. Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols. Maintain effective warehouse design/layout and installation of storage and assembly of racks for effective utilization of the facilities. Strategically storing merchandise to maximize storage space within the warehouse. Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system. Liaising with respective functional sections (Sales, Customer Services) to ensure that customer operations strategies and activities are integrated and aligned. Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing requisitions for repairs and replacement. Identifying opportunities to optimize logistics costs and implementing cost saving projects together with warehouse managers. Achieves financial objectives by analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions. Conducting long-term planning for distribution and warehousing costs and determining necessary resource requirements. Continuously identify best practices in the warehousing operations (Storage/throughput) and work with management to augment warehousing capabilities.
