Primary purpose of current/most recent position:
To help a company ensure it has the proper controls, governance and risk management processes in place.To provide an independent, objective assurance and consulting services in order to improve the operations of the company. This is done through a systematic disciplined approach that provides assurance and improved risk management,governance and control processes. In summary,it's purpose is to minimise and identify high risk areas within the operations of the company and suggest best practices to be followed to avoid no-compliance that may put companies reputation at risk whether to its clients, industry norms and standards, internal best practices or industry benchmarks.

Risk Management of the organisation,Governance processes and Control activities. Amongst other,is adherence to accounting standards ,such as GRAP,IFRS and related internal policies .

Key responsibilities and accountabilities of ideal position:
1.Ensues that Internal Audit function has adequate expertise and resources to fulfill its responsibilities 2.Ability to contract appropriate external assistance. Reviews adequacy of internal controls. 3.Reviews implementation of internal controls. 4.Periodically audits banking and other business operations.
Skill area of competence:
Develop Notification letter with assistance of Manager, arrange opening meetings with the Audited and develop attendance register and records minutes.. Develop Risk Control Metrics and Preliminary survey report with intended objectives Contribute inputs in line for the development of System Audit programme. Perform audit procedures so as to accomplish steps outlined in an approved System Audit programme. Obtain sufficient, relevant, reliable and useful evidence. Analyse evidentiary data through procedures or as informed by objective on the adequacy, efficiency, effectiveness and economical internal controls of the system. Prepare detailed and self-explanatory Working papers. Document test results on Working papers with relevant conclusions and align exceptions to evidence. Develop Summary of findings with criteria, condition and recommendations. Discuss Audit findings with management and obtain agreed management comments, action plan and implementation date. Assist in preparation of draft reports on the work performed and express opinion on the adequacy (of controls) with which activities is carried out.
