Engineering Manager, seeks a position as Technical Director or Director of Operations/Production - given that an Engineering Manager fulfills a cross-functional role within most businesses, I would love to move into a role which allows for me to influence an organisation more strategically. I believe that having a strong technical background provides a strong foundation to then create improvements which then align more practically to what an entire organisation experiences, but may not always be seen by more senior management.
Company classification: Service Provider (supply chain, professional services, repair & maintenance, etc.) Industry in: Chemicals Petrochemicals - Petrol | Oil | Grease | Lubrication | Crude Oil | Natural Gas Highest formal qualification and other: Honours MBA Discipline: Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) Years of experience range: e. 11 to 15 years (c. 3 to 5 years management) Annual package range: South African Rand - ZAR Annual package range: 1.55 mil - 1.8 mil, per annum Nationality: South African Home and other languages: Afrikaans, English, Zulu Gender: Female Ethnicity: Indian Candidate location: South Africa Location preference: I am open to positions nationally (in my country).
As an engineer with both an electrical and chemical engineering qualification, I am technically adept at understanding how processes can be optimised and improved, not only for business efficiency but with long term environmental sustainability in mind. I have a varied career in that I have spent the majority of my time in the petrochemical industry, but have explored aspects of engineering and governance, business development and strategic management whilst also having spent time as an entrepreneur and STEM advocate. I am passionate about being intentional with everything I do, but specifically, growing teams and individuals to ensure that the human aspect is always kept at the fore. Whilst my experience does not cover the manufacturing environment, my time in the tank storage space has covered aspects of logistics, planning, product quality and a large component focusing on customer and stakeholder management. Managing teams both in upstream and downstream of the petroleum supply chain gives me a good understanding of needing to manage both team and business deliverables in a high-paced and extremely demanding environment. I am keen to take my array of skills into a new environment, especially one which is focused on improving the growing issues around carbon emissions.
