What are some of your greatest achievements (When and how have you saved your employers time, money and resources)?
Developed numerous design and simulation programs for the defence industry in the first six years of my career.
Developed water cooled roofs for electrical arc furnaces to replace traditional refractory hung roofs. Project ran between 1991 and 1994 with a capital value of R21 million and extended furnace roof lives from 1 year to 5 years.
Completed portion of Feasibility Study for Phase 1 of a container terminal at Richards Bay. Total project value was R35 Billion and as Area Manager I was responsible for the Multi Purpose Terminal (MPT) with a direct cost of R5 Billion. The study was completed on time and within budget.
Completed a pre-feasibility study on time and within budget for a new iron ore mine which included a crusher, overland conveyors and all infrastructure. The study conducted in 2011 had a capital value of AU$800 million.
