Job Description:

A global entity and listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, our client designs, manufactures and markets specialised air and gas handling solutions to a wide range of industries.

They currently have an opportunity for a Service Manager who has extensive experience in servicing the power industry and who has excellent people management skills to assume overall responsibility for the quality, quantity, efficiency and timeous delivery of maintenance and installation projects to effectively meet customer expectations as well as overseeing overall financial management, planning, systems and controls.

Position details:

Effectively lead and manage departmental personnel to achieve company objectives and customer needs whilst ensuring staff are performing, motivated, positive, focused and well-informed.
Manage and ensure adherence to health and safety standards in compliance with company policy, client’s and legislative requirements in order to provide a safe working environment for all employees.
Identify and develop the site service personnel to ensure proper allocation of resources and that projects are completed on time and within budget. Ensure that there is a succession plan in place.
Negotiate with labour brokers for labour requirements on various sites.
Responsible for quality of work for the service people to company internal standards and the customer standards.
Accountable for the Middleburg service department budget, i.e. control company labour costs on site by comparing money spent on labour vs. tender costs.
Manage relationships between Service Department, Spares, Procurement, Quality and Suppliers to ensure that components are delivered to the agreed timelines.
SOX compliance: Adhere to Sarbanes Oxley and AX controls.

Job Qualification & Experience:

Diploma /BTech/Bsc in Mechanical Engineering
10 years’ experience in site maintenance
7-10 years’ people management experience within the power generation industry
Knowledge of NEC contracts
Negotiation and Influencing skills
Good leadership & interpersonal skills
Project management course with experience of running technical projects
MS Office-  Word, Excel, Power Point and Projects
