Primary purpose: Day-to-day decisions in course of duties, with decision-making within provisions of budget and Procurement Policy. Responsible for the procurement of a wide variety of commodities, materials, supplies, equipment, and services
Job description / core competencies:
Sourcing and purchasing of the productive and non Productive material in accordance to the Procurement Policy.
Evaluation of supplies in accordance to the Procurement Policy.
Responsible for ensuring that we have local price lists and that the prices in Navision system are up to date.
Ensure data integrity of procurement and inventory system data related to purchasing.
Strategic contracts management.
Negotiate local supplier quality, price, delivery and quantity, optimizing economies of scale.
Initiate, create, negotiate and implement agreements/ contracts as required so as to secure best commercial advantage and ensure continuity of supply.
Make purchase recommendations/decisions based on demand.
Process purchase orders within ERP system (Navision)
Monitor, communicate and update delivery status of orders within Navison system and ensure internal customers are able to view the information.
Initiate purchase orders for outworks and expedite accordingly.
Support the Company in the achievement of B-BBEE goals.
Participate in global procurement initiatives and manage the localization initiatives
Manage the identification and evaluation of suitable vendors in accordance procurement policy.
Lead and control the purchasing functions by coordinating with the purchasing team and internal customers.
Initiation of new vendor accounts and ensure vendor files are created for new vendors.
Dealing with Internal customer queries.

Job Qualification & Experience:
Degree in procurement or degree in supply chain management and logistics.
technical qualification in engineering; mechanical or industrial
Experience and other Requirements:
In depth knowledge of Import and export processes.
Previous experience with both foreign and local procurement.
Commercial contracts negotiating skills and experience with both foreign and local suppliers
In-depth and up to date Knowledge on MRP and MPS required
Parts management and inventory optimization experience advantages.
Supplier development and B-BB EE preferential procurement strategy development and execution experience.
