Our client currently has a vacancy for a Senior Buyer to purchase items and services in accordance with the company applicable procedures and processes.
The successful incumbent will have 7 years’ working experience in purchasing together with a Degree or Diploma in Purchasing Management.
Buying according to Production order / IPL
Buying of larger facilities items
Liaise with job preparation, production and project managers and stores to get information and keep them up to date of material deliveries
Set up contract and SLAs (Service Level Agreements) including measurement system to monitor performance
Placing orders for machine repairs
Assist PM/Planner with setting up purchase planning in-line with project planning
Set up project specific documents, like standard RFQ, etc
Place purchase orders in-line with project planning and budget
Coaching and guiding supply chain project team members
Supply progress reports
Monitoring the purchase budget
Based on company vision contribution to Supply Chain improvements as defined in the yearly defined targets
Other duties and responsibilities express and implied which arise from the nature and character of the post within the organisation
Carry out any reasonable duties consistent with the post as directed.

Job Qualification & Experience:
Degree or Diploma in Purchasing Management
Legal training in contracts
7 years working experience in purchasing
MS Word, Excel and Navision
Advanced knowledge of legal aspects of purchasing
To date, our client has constructed & delivered 40 vessels to the African continent (countries include South Africa, Zanzibar, Angola, Kenya and many more). Vessel types constructed and delivered to date have included offshore patrol vessels, dredgers, tugs, naval craft and supply vessels.
