Job Description:

Our client, a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA), is looking to appoint a Chairperson for their Risk Management Committee. Applications close on 07 July 2022 at 12:00.

Remuneration shall be in line with the Accounting Authority approved remuneration policy aligned to National Treasury remuneration directives

Position details:

Scope of Work / Terms of reference (TOR):

The Risk Management Committee Chairperson is an integral element of the governance, risk and compliance within the SETA.
The Risk Management Committee Chairperson reports via the Audit and Risk Committee to the Accounting Authority and provides oversight in relation to all aspects of the enterprise risk management, combined assurance, compliance, anti-corruption, and fraud as well as business continuity management, including but not limited to the following.

  • Review risk management framework, policy, charter, strategy and implementation plan within the SETA
  • Monitoring implementation of risk management framework, policy, charter, strategy, and implementation plan within the SETA
  • Provide guidance on integration of risk management into planning, monitoring and reporting processes
  • Assist in reviewing risk management action plans to be instituted and ensure compliance to the plan
  • Provide advice guidance on setting risk appetite and review risk appetite, tolerance levels and anti-fraud measures

Job Qualification & Experience:

Position requirements as follows:

  • A minimum of a Post Graduate Degree in Internal Auditing/Auditing or Risk Management
  • A Master’s Degree in Auditing / Risk Management or Business Administration will be an added advantage

The candidate requires a minimum of 10 years management experience gained within either of the following areas:

  • Strategic Management, Risk Management, Compliance, Auditing, Anti-Fraud and Corruption
  • Preferably in the public service

The candidate will require previous experience of serving as a member or chairperson within:

  • A Risk Management Committee and/or Audit Committee

The candidate will require proven knowledge and experience in SETA environment, Government Departments, State-Owned Entities operational environments and accountability structures

*CV must demonstrate years of experience*

The candidate must have excellent knowledge of the Risk Management, Corporate Governance, Public Finance Management Act and Treasury Regulations, Enterprise-Wide Risk Management (EWRM), ISO 31000 Standard, COSO model and Public Sector Risk Management Framework
