Job Description:

Are you interested joining a Company that is aiming to hit the market with the world’s first fossil-free steel supply chain and on the entire steel making process, from mining to retailing. This role will require extensive traveling in to Zambia and Congo as well to neighbouring countries and South Africa.

Position details:

Reports to: Area Sales Manager: Sub-Saharan Africa.

Primary purpose:

Independently set up sales presentations, contracts and proposals.
Negotiate offer including prices and delivery times and other terms within limits of authority.
Contribute to the strategy development in the Sales Area.

Implement the strategy independently and in teams to reach short and medium term strategic goals.
Secure yearly sales and marketing targets with existing and potential customers.
Identify upgrading opportunities in the field and call for relevant resources to convert these opportunities into business.
Effective us of online sales tools and social media to identify new opportunities and attract new customers.
Do the job safely at all times, share relevant risk observations with the organisation and help colleagues to act safely.
Develop strategic goals for the Sales Area together with the ASM and TDM and break down these into relevant and concrete sales and development activities.
Growth plans to achieve the leading position in Special steels on segment/customer level and on product level. Plan and execute the work on medium and short term to implement the ASM Area strategy.

Customer meetings 4 days per week and 1 day for follow-up, reporting and planning.
Volume and profitability through upgrading and development of strategic products.
Independently set up sales presentations, contracts and proposals.

Pursue sales both at existing and new customers.

Negotiate offer including prices and delivery times and other terms, monitoring set credit terms with operative responsibility of ensuring the region sales volume and profitability objectives are met.
Develop new leads and opportunities for upgrading to Special steel.

Focus in the segments selected in the strategy and in the X-days segments.
Build the Special Steels market, strengthen Company position and quickly react to changing market conditions.
Contribute to continuously improve the sales processes in line with the Company’s one principles.
Standardized and continuously improved sales processes that allow Company to progress faster than its competitors.
Plan and document all relevant customer activities in Salesforce to share the customer history and new updates with the rest of the account team.
Share information with the other team members and transfer the customer information from the individual Regional Sales Manager to the sales organization.
Develop sustainable business with respect to Company code of conduct and ensure that our business partners, including new and existing customers are meeting the same high standards in terms of sanctions, human rights and business ethics.

Quick response to changing market conditions and customer demands.

Travel requirements: 2 weeks of the month travelling

Location (country, city): East Rand, Gauteng

Job Qualification & Experience:

National Diploma engineering discipline, metallurgical, chemical, mechanical with commercial acumen and understanding of sales and margins.
At least 3 years working experience in direct sales targeting in mining related products.
Identified potential to advance into ASM position within 5 years.
Excellent presentation, communication and negotiation skills both in English and Local language, additional language skills are meriting and for some positions required.
Very good negotiation skills.
Good understanding of business and finance and strategic ability.
Extensive travelling to Zambia and Congo as well neighboring countries. Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique and includes Madagascar 2 weeks of the month travelling. 1 week across border
