Our client currently has an opportunity for a Regional Sales Manager to implement and drive the company industrial sales strategy within the Central region including setting and delivering agreed targets, maximising sales growth, optimising profits through effective go-to-market strategies, managing, leading and coaching the regional sales team, providing strong support to the team for the high-value clients and strategic negotiations.
The successful incumbent will hold a degree or diploma and have proven sales management experience, meeting or exceeding targets.
Manage the Central Region according to the expectations, leveraging the resources and the competences of the region in the industrial market (OE & AM).
Achieve agreed growth, cost, working capital and scorecard targets.
Develop and drive strong sales and segment growth strategies, closely aligned to Key Account structures.
Drive the expansion of the value proposition and thus sales of the 5 technology areas.
Support the deployment of the REP strategy in the region.
Optimise the total business life cycle of the company offering.
Sales funnel management.
Lead negotiations for local contracts and contracts management.
Manage and develop the distribution network through the “More with Company” program in the region.
Manage and develop high quality relationships with distributors, OEMs and end users.
Deploy price leadership strategy and value based selling (using DSP).
Structure and develop the region to meet new strategies and business needs.
Lead and coordinate activities across functions.
Achieve operational excellence and effective utilisation of resources.
Establish effective communication and cooperation within the region and across the company.
Build a strong regional team and develop talent to meet future regional needs.
Motivate and drive performance of all employees to sell and grow profitable business.
Foster a good working climate and strong teamwork.

Job Qualification & Experience:
An appropriate tertiary qualification (Degree or Diploma) is essential.
Proven sales management experience, meeting or exceeding targets.
Demonstrable experience as Sales Manager developing customer-focused, differentiated and achievable solutions.
Experienced in establishing and developing strategic and new business.
Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
Value selling experience in the industrial market would be advantageous.
A good understanding of the market and industries of Southern Africa Region.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
Excellent business understanding and knowledge of financial tools.
Experience and proven track record in sales and business management.
Personal drive and perseverance, as well as interest in driving change.
Good negotiation, communication and influencing skills.
Successful experience in leading multi-functional teams.
Willingness to travel within the region.
Fluency in English.
