Proprietary technology offered includes thickeners, clarifiers, multi-media filters and ion exchange. Partnered technologies include flotation, vacuum and pressure filtration. They are currently sourcing a Quality Control Manager
Reports to: SHEQ Manager
Primary purpose: To maintain and expand the role of the quality team within the contract/aftermarket department, to ensure compliance to all relevant project requirements, applicable national and international standards, to ensure a quality product is supplied.
Job description / core competencies:
Oversight over QC activities and support to SHEQ Manager.
Manager activities of QC Administrator and QC inspectors.
Reviewing the contract scopes and procurement register with the responsible Contracts Manager/Engineer understand the scope and involvement of the QC team.
Assessments of suppliers and subcontractors, reporting continuous improvement plan to SHEQ Manager
Develop and Maintain QC plan, system, documents and processes aligned with ISO and other required standards
Obtaining copies of orders and specifications, relating to specific material, plant or equipment, from the Contracts Manager/Engineer.
Scheduling, conducting and reporting pre-inspection meetings with suppliers and contractors.
NCR Management including Technical Query reviews
Assigning inspectors to carry out inspection activities based on the skills Matrix, Job descriptions and passing on copies of orders and specifications relating to specific material, plant or equipment to assigned inspectors accordingly.
The review, mark-up, comment and approval of submitted QCPs by suppliers after initial review & comment by assigned inspector.
Monitoring and reporting of Workshop loading
Provisional review coordination for approval of QCP related quality procedures & supporting documentation, i.e. Welding & NDE procedures etc, monitoring of inspection activities.
Reviewing and verifying all inspection reports prior to sending them to the relevant parties. Reviewing weekly transmittal status reports
Recording, monitoring and coordinating resolution of all non-conformances, concessions and technical queries.
Managing QC / Expediting summary and reports to SHEQ Manager, relevant Contracts Engineers and Suppliers
Issuing project QC/Expediting summary weekly to Contracts Manager/Engineer
Managing the approval of Customer related data book, manuals etc. and filing of quality & inspection data in the project directory.
Identifying, negotiate and implement possible areas for improvement.
Implementing identified and approved interventions to ensure continual improvement.
Weekly report back on quality concerns and conducting Supplier audits
Plan and schedule weekly activities.
Manage weekly departmental meetings and report records to SHEQ Manager
To ensure contract specific quality records as gathered, reviewed, approved and formalised for transmittal to the client.
Develop and improvement of interdepartmental communication methods and processes
Reject equipment/plant as a result of poor workmanship and defects.
Raise Non-Conformance Reports.

Job Qualification & Experience:
Preferred: Level 2 Welding & Fabrication Inspector
Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar industry preferred, fabrication experience an advantage.
Expediting management, technical knowledge, QC document/system and process development.
Knowledge of standards, relevant laws and regulations, supplier relationship management, NCR management, reporting, planning and scheduling.
Engineering Consultant providing process solutions and services primarily in the fields of solid and liquid separation and allied processes internationally.
