Job Description:

The Planner takes accountability, at an operational level, for the monitor and control of all related project schedule management activities, to ensure all project related work and resource allocations are done in-line with Client governance. Must be able to carry a program integrated schedule.

Position details:
Reports to: Senior Planner
Travel requirements: Head Office or site office depending on contract status with the client. Periodic travel to site. Office working hours, flexible depending on project needs.
Job description / core competencies:

  • Administration The Planner is responsible for the overall Project Plan, in accordance with set guidelines.
  • The Planner is responsible to the Team Leader, for Team schedule capability and performance matters, and to the Client Project Manager in his planning function, for project schedule management and performance, taking accountability for;
  • Development of the Work Breakdown Structure and overall schedule plan including Basis of Schedule
  • Development and updates to the Master Schedule incl. maintaining the Project Life Cycle and alignment of all participants including Contractor Schedules and provide the Project Team with weekly updates or as required
  • Able to track the actual vs planned work and be able to interpret the risks / red flag the schedule constraints
  • Ensure that as and when required all outstanding work can be micro – scheduled and tracked to show schedule progression
  • Identify bottlenecks on the schedule and advise on fast tracking items to get the schedule back on track
  • Give timely reports and updates to the Senior planner and in conjunction ensure the project is aligned with expectations, this includes having an observed timeframe on hand over dates
  • Integration with cost and procurement operating plan
  • Monitoring all associated detailed schedules, providing accurate reports on progress, variance to plan, root causes and remedial actions
  • Monitoring the greater environment to preliminary areas of potential risks to the schedule

Job Qualification & Experience:

  • Supervisory qualification, Multi discipline experience in engineering and construction.
  • Minimum 5 – 10 years experience depending on Project Value
