Our client currently has an opportunity for a Production Metallurgist at their Open Cast Chrome mine based in a remote area of Zimbabwe. This position is suited to single expats and involves a rotation of 28 days on and 10 days off. Flights, housing and meals will be provided by the company.
The Production Metallurgist role is for an individual who is highly motivated and dedicated with a strong desire to learn new skills, be able to work independently as well as part of a team, enjoy new challenges and show a lot of initiative.
Administration and safe keeping of production records;
Assist in daily production;
Report writing for senior management;
Daily stock pile report;
Development Procedure writing;
Daily update of live production reports;
Test work and test work reports;
Daily reconciliation on production;
Daily interaction with production and engineering;
Training of subordinates;
Daily, weekly and monthly reports;
Production forecast planning;
Mine data analyst and interpretation;
Job Qualification & Experience:
Minimum Grade 12 with Maths and a Metallurgical Diploma/Degree
Minimum 3-year experience in a similar field within a Mining Environment;
Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required;
Ability to work independently;
High sense of responsibility and accuracy;
Be able to work under pressure;
Our client is a rapidly expanding company which now directly and indirectly employs 2500 people throughout sub-Saharan Africa. The mine in Zimbabwe mines and processes alluvial chromite ore.
