Job Description:

Our client current has an opportunity for a Product Manager to ensure sales growth for the Condition Monitoring Platform and Remote Diagnostics Centre for Southern Africa.

The Product Management Team lead and manage all non-bearing products from a technical and commercial point of view. The company is an original equipment manufacturer of many specialised products that extend beyond pure rolling bearing offerings.  These products are grouped into 4 primary sections (Seals, Power Transmission, MaPro & CoMo) and each is a valuable enabler to extend company offering to the market.

The successful incumbent will hold a formal Mechanical, Mechatronic or Electrical Engineering qualification together with a Project Management qualification.

Position details:

Define and analyse business opportunities and optimize our go to-market approach.
Ensure progress on strategic programs through contribution to and execution of defined projects.
Actively determines and pursues new application specific opportunities for products and services by analysing customer and market needs.
Drives development of an innovative offer portfolio (NMOs), ensuring Company’s offer portfolio reflects current and future market needs.
Supports project gating and prioritization for opportunity management.
Make technical evaluations of incoming requests for quotations from bidders and checks same for completeness of scope and compliance with specifications.
Responsibility for the following aspects of the Solutions and REP offerings to market:
oInitial assessment of existing designs and system layouts o Provide technical assistance and recommendations to key customers and Distribution network
oDesign and development of new CoMo Systems ensuring incorporation into existing operational systems.
oCoMo offer costing and on-time submission of offers to Distributors and Direct Accounts.
oWhere necessary, expediting of CoMo project offerings to ensure deliveries are met.
oCoordinating with all required departments to ensure customer needs are met while keeping the business profitable.
Visits to key customers and Distributors to: Sell Company’s CoMo solutions and offerings.
oAddress technical queries related to the supply of Company’s integrated solutions and CoMo offerings
oUnderstand the market trends and needs, to support in projects and to be able to develop further the Company’s portfolio.
On-site inspections and commissioning of CoMo offerings.
Promotion and integration of the different technologies and business models in Solutions and CoMo offerings for tenders.
Plan together with relevant departments, the CoMo implementation and execution strategy, related to business plan targets and scorecard goals.
Drive the development and implementation of CoMo business development opportunities in close cooperation with key stakeholders.
Contribute to CoMo periodic reviews (Connected Technologies Communities), business and technical risk assessments, and other types of evaluations needed in the CoMo Project process (when applicable).
Supports the delivery of the agreed CoMo Platform growth strategies and targets.
Pro-actively hunts for market and Industry information and shares knowledge about the update of the business outlooks, the different technologies, main players, application area, competitors, portfolio used, pricing, key markets, position, etc.
Uses C4C, SDW, and other internal tools to understand further the business and its opportunities.
Collaborate with local and global Sales, Technical Support and Manufacturing teams to develop business opportunities.
Support other Platforms and Remote Diagnostics centre with technical product support and system integration.
Required at all times to communicate and escalate where appropriate business critical information gleaned from customers and the distribution network.·
Analysis of data in order to make day-to-day job-related decision and to prioritise work in line with operational requirements. ·
Required to direct the decision-making process of cross-functional colleagues and distributors. ·
Required to make quick decisions and anticipate needs and can react to operational situations in a timely and appropriate manner.
Excellent presentation skills are essential as the job holder will be required to attend and represent the organisation in the distribution network and at customers.
Excellent communication skills are required as the person will be expected to negotiate and influence at all levels within customer and distributor organisations and the wider internal organisation.
Communications extend further than routine exchanges of data and statistical information. Must understand and then deliver the key message effectively and competently to influence others.

Achieve agreed sales growth, cost, cash and profit targets.
Formulate, benchmark and share independent development strategies for identified customers.
Develop and execute local strategies to grow CoMo and RDC platforms business.
Continuously exceed CoMo Project Sales targets.
Manage and coordinate resources to ensure that identified development areas are addressed in a timely manner. ·
Continually strive to identify and seek to capitalise on profitable business opportunities.
Contribute to market intelligence by maintaining a broad and up to date knowledge on competitor activities, market drivers and external influences on the business. ·
Support CEE-MEA CoMo community and strategy.
Support and Maintain existing CoMo product installations.
Technical support on CoMo product range.

Job Qualification & Experience:

A formal Mechanical, Mechatronic or Electrical Engineering qualification.
Project Management degree/diploma/certificate or PMP (or eligible).
A formal condition monitoring qualification.
A formal Systems integration qualification.
Proven track record and experience in project management/ sales management/ business development.
Able to design, develop and implement integrated reliability solutions.
Strong technical and commercial knowledge of the Company’s product range and key industrial segments.
Strong customer orientation and business drive.
Negotiation skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Excellent planning, organisational and administrative skills.
Confidentiality, tact and discretion in dealing with people.
Excellent oral and written communication skills – English.
Flexibility and ability to manage reporting lines in the structure of an international Group (matrix).

Up to date industry/product knowledge.
Ability to analyse and interpret relatively complex data in a logical manner.
Comfortable with the Company’s CoMo products.
Reliability integration and set up experience.
Knowledge on Vibration Analysis of Industrial Equipment.
Excellent attention to detail and understanding of different assets.
