Our client currently has an opportunity for a Plant Coordinator at their Open Cast Chrome mine based in a remote area of Zimbabwe. This position is suited to single expats and involves a rotation of 28 days on and 10 days off. Flights, housing and meals will be provided by the company.
The Plant Coordinator role is for an individual who is highly motivated and dedicated with a strong desire to learn new skills, be able to work independently as well as part of a team, enjoy new challenges and show a lot of initiative. Reporting to the Production Manager.
Responsible for the production on one of seven chromite wash plants (screening, spiral and thickener operational experience required);
Planning of routine plant maintenance;
Providing daily feedback at production and engineering meeting;
Control all equipment supplied for production;
Control gangs allocated for production
All checklists are complete and up to date;
Dam and tailings management;
HSE management in area of responsibility;
Product quality management;
Housekeeping in plant is up to standard;
Maintain discipline of resources.
Training of subordinates
Job Qualification & Experience:
Minimum Grade 12 with Mathematics and a related artisanal qualification (mechanical or electrical);
Minimum 10-year experience in a similar field within a Mining Environment;
Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required;
Strong analytical skills;
Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
Strong planning and organizational skills;
High sense of responsibility and accuracy;
Be able to work under pressure
