Our client, a well-known provider of professional technical and construction services, with revenues of nearly $10 billion, has an opportunity for a Planner to join their team in Cape Town.
The successful incumbent will have 3-5 years of experience and have worked in an EPC/EPCM Environment.
Prepare planning deliverables in accordance with the project.
Attend planning sessions (IAP) at the start of the project.
Assist with assembly of planning deliverables to prepare the work-scope within a timely manner.
Produce deliverables based on alerting the project to potential schedule difficulties.
Evaluate critical paths in project schedules.
Preparing resource load schedule with hours to obtain baseline curve and monitor resource usage.
Update and issue of revised baseline schedules in accordance with the project calendar.
Prepare 3 Part / S-Curves to support schedule.
Monitor and forecast progress of activities in work schedules.
Develop, implement and manage planning strategy.
Attend project kick off / progress meetings & provide planning feedback.
Develop strong working relationships with key suppliers / contractors.
Liaise with Project Controls department regarding budget & planning.
Assist in developing and implementing planning policies & procedures.
Identify and advise project, planning & management of any commercial risks.
Recommend schedule recovery strategies.
Adhere to Planning National / International Standards & Specifications.
Adhere to Internal Planning / expediting Procedures, Policies & Work Instructions.
Adhere to HSE Policies and Procedures.
Understanding of businesses management system.
Timeous completion of weekly timesheets.
Timeously distribution of project documentation to relevant recipients.
Good written and verbal communication, interpersonal & basic negotiation skills.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
Good problem solver and meticulous and analytical.
Maintain good ethical behaviour and practices at all times.

Primavera, MS Projects, other planning software

EPC / EPCM Environment
Petro Chemical, Oil and Gas or Similar Environment
