Our client, a well-known provider of professional technical and construction services, with revenues of nearly $10 billion, has an opportunity for a Planner to join their team. You will be based in Johannesburg but will be required to complete a project in Durban (accommodation provided).
The successful incumbent will have 3-5 years of experience and have worked in an EPC/EPCM Environment.
Prepare planning deliverables in accordance with the project
Attend planning sessions(IAP) at the start of the project
Assist with Assembly of planning deliverables to prepare the work-scope within a timely manner
Produce deliverables based on alerting the project to potential schedule difficulties
Evaluate critical paths in project schedules
Preparing resource load schedule with hours to obtain baseline curve and monitor resource usage
Update & issue of revised baseline schedules in accordance with the project calendar
Prepare 3 Part / S-Curves to support schedule
Monitor & forecast progress of activities in work schedules
Develop, Implement & Manage Planning Strategy
Attend project kick off / progress meetings & provide Planning Feedback
Develop strong working relationships with key suppliers / contractors
Liaise with Project Controls department regarding budget & planning
Assist in Developing & Implementing Planning policies & procedures
Identify & advise Project, Planning & Management of any Commercial Risks
Recommend Schedule Recovery Strategies
Adhere to Planning National / International Standards & Specifications
Adhere to Internal Planning / expediting Procedures, Policies & Work Instructions
Adhere to HSE Policies & Procedures
Understanding of JM businesses Management system
Timeous completion of weekly timesheets
Timeously distribution of project documentation to relevant recipients
Good written & verbal Communication, interpersonal & Basic Negotiation skills
Ability to multitask & work under pressure
Ability to work as part of a team & independently
Good problem solver & meticulous & analytical
Maintain good ethical behaviour & practices at all times
Travel requirements: Will be sent to Durban to complete a project – accommodation provided

Job Qualification & Experience:
Matric / Relevant Tertiary Qualification
Primavera, MS Projects, other planning software
3 – 5 years
EPC / EPCM Environment
Petro Chemical, Oil & Gas or Similar Environment
Experience with Primavera, MS Projects, other planning software
Knowledge & experience of MS Office packages
Knowledge of Cost control, procurement & Planning Processes including document control
Knowledge Primavera, CPM Scheduling, MS Projects
Knowledge of scheduling techniques & principles for projects
