They are currently seeking to employ a Performance Improvement Manager to lead the processing business improvement initiatives and support the attainment of processing processes along with efficiency targets as defined in the business plan.
Primary purpose: To lead the processing business improvement initiatives and support of the attainment of processing processes efficiency targets as defined in the business plan.
Job description / core competencies:
To ensure processing operations achieve production targets safely and cost efficientl
To maintain sound people management practices to ensure a productive workforce at processing operations (includes HRM and HRD)
To develop and implement strategic plan for processing plants and support the Processing Executive in the strategic management process.
Provide optimal structure and resources to implement strategy effectively
To increase technical competence and workforce effectiveness as well as implementation of high performance culture
To initiate, integrate and control process improvement initiative through Processing Technical Services Department.
Lead implementation of process systems, policies procedures and standards to ensure accountability in terms of operational plan
To monitor operational achievement and advice to the Line Managers
To identify relevant continuous improvement initiatives that result into the short term, medium and long term strategy
Advise on reduction of deviations from strategies/plans as well as optimising the value chain through identification of inefficiencies
Identify networking opportunities with internal and external stakeholders.
Assist Processing leadership with optimal business process to support value chain integration.
Best practice system design, implementation and integration to ensure a return on investment
Identify key business drivers to formulate a performance improvement plan.
To ensure that the Processing’s Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures are aligned to best industry practices.

Job Qualification & Experience:
BTech/B Eng in Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering (NQF 7) is essential
Relevant Honors Degree is desirable
Management Development Programme (MBA/MBL) is desirable
At least 15 years in Mineral Processing environment, of which 5 to 7 years should have been at an executive level.
Experience in either having initiated and/or managed a Project Management Office (PMO), with the ability to provide diagnostic, analytical and packaged solutions to deliver on business initiatives
Demonstrate management and leadership experience in the following or associated roles: Production and/or Industrial environment.
Business Management, within a senior management/executive team
Project Management and Project Integration
Experience in the design and execution of business strategy is essential
Previous exposure to Processing operation is essential.
Experience to coordinate the projects/initiative prioritization process and interface regularly with management to identify project priorities, implementation opportunities and challenges is essential.
Experience in productivity, efficiency and continuous improvement is essential.
Assist with the development of tracking KPIs to measure initiative impact.
Experience in either having initiated and/or managed a Project Management Office (PMO), with the ability to provide diagnostic, analytical and packaged solutions to deliver on business initiatives is essential
Valid Medical Certificate or medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate
Knowledge of unit processes
