Job Description:

One of the biggest underground mines in the world has an exciting opportunity for a Plant Metallurgist to be based in the DRC. Our client is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Plant Metallurgist to optimise the metallurgical performance of the plant in what is an exciting phase of growth for the business. This is an opportunity on a 12/3 roster.

Position details:

Optimise the metallurgical performance of the plant.
Sound understanding of mineral processing operations (incl crushing, grinding, gravity, floatation, thickening and filtering).
Analyse inefficiencies, identify bottlenecks through operational performance data and recommend improvement strategies.
Provide technical reports and analysis on plant performance.
Daily and weekly production data reporting.
Ensure systems are in place and adhered to in order to meet product specifications.
Conduct equipment inspections during shutdowns or as required.

Job Qualification & Experience:

A Bachelor of Science/Engineering in Metallurgy or equivalent.
5-10 years’ experience in a mineral processing environment, preference gold.
Experience with gold process technologies and equipment.
Knowledge of metallurgical test and plant optimisation techniques and procedures.
