Our client currently has an opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer – Process Engineering at their Open Cast Chrome mine based in a remote area of Zimbabwe. This position is suited to single expats and involves a rotation of 28 days on and 10 days off. Flights, housing and meals will be provided by the company.
The Maintenance Engineer role is for an individual who is highly motivated and dedicated with a strong desire to learn new skills, able to work independently as well as part of a team, enjoys new challenges and shows a lot of initiative.
The successful incumbent will hold a BSc in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a GCC mines and works together with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar field within a Mining Environment in a processes plant.
Daily planning on engineering relate issue per plant
Assist in ordering of spares
Daily inspections on equipment
Assist production with plant operations
Daily feedback on projects in process plants
Daily update of engineering reports per plant
Training of local employees
Maintenance scheduling and planning
Upkeeping of daily records
Procedure writing and implementations
Job Qualification & Experience:
Minimum Grade 12 with Maths and a related tertiary qualification, BSc mechanical or electrical engineering with a GCC mines and works
Minimum 10-year experience in a similar field within a Mining Environment in a processes plant
Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required
Ability to work independently
High sense of responsibility and accuracy
Be able to work under pressure
