Job Description:

Travel to site, construction projects (EPC/EPCM) based in Limpopo and North West Province.

Skilled in setting up systems, processes and procedures from scratch. Can execute and follow through. Strengths in performance management and employee consultation. Position details:
Permanent.

Reports to: Human Resource Manager. Work with all internal employees and management, Project Controls manager, HOD’s, and Recruitment agencies.

Primary purpose: To provide advice and support to Company and Projects through the provision of services across the full range of HR activities, including, resource management, on-boarding, learning and development, performance management, compensation and benefit queries, equity and diversity management, employee consultation and employee relations.  To ensure all aspects of HR support to the employees of Projects are delivered in a timely manner.

Job description / core competencies:

  1. Development of functional strategy and management of the HR function
    Contribute to the development of the HR in the Company and Projects strategy
    Support a safe and healthy work environment where workers and internal contractors can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment.
    Updating, review and maintaining HR policies, procedures applicable to company HR
  2. Management of HR capability
    Keeping up to date with changes in legislation and implementation thereof within the company.
    Record maintenance of Training and Development programs and initiation of Training and Development programs.
  3. Provision of governance and assurance
    Assist in the execution and optimization of functional HR processes to ensure adherence to governance.
    Ensure that the workforce accepts, internalise, and applies any changes in HR processes, practices, or systems to adhere to business requirements.

4. Provision of functional support and oversight
Provide a recruitment service to the Company to source and successfully engage appropriate and capable staff, engage with recruiters, update and review job profiles with HOD’s, set up and chair interviews.
Assist in the on-boarding and induction process of new employees.
Set up and chair probation reviews.
Provide independent support and advice to managers and employees in addressing employee related issues and other labour related grievances.
Contribute to the planning and implementation of the performance management process.
Ensure the delivery of the People Excellence Process and that coaching, and mentoring is conducted to support individual development and performance management.
Ensure that Talent Management practices and tools are implemented and pursued correctly.
Ensure alignment between training and Individual Development Plans.
Development, Management and Co-ordination of PIT Programme.
Day-to-day HR Project management (i.e., relations, contract extensions, demobilizations, redeployment, and terminations).
Identify and update Employee movement and organizational structure changes.
Monthly reporting on all aspects of HR.

Travel requirements: Office and remote work. Requires own transport to site.

Location (country, city): Limpopo and North West Province

Job Qualification & Experience:

Human Resources/Management Degree and or equivalent thereof.
Advantage – Project Management Certificate.
At least 5 years of relevance experience in HR on an operational level or comparable experience.

Experience working in Construction, Project Management (EPC/EPCM), OR Mining industry will be advantageous.

Skilled in setting up systems, processes and procedures from scratch.

Can Execute and follow through.
