Job Description:

One of a few international companies offering overhead electrical infrastructure products to Electrical Utilities in Africa and renowned international clients in Europe and the USA. For over 40 years, and with emphasis on innovation and quality, they have been designing, planning, manufacturing, managing and executing complex Overhead Line / Overhead Traction Equipment supply projects – all to the highest international quality standards – from their manufacturing facility boasting efficient in-house processes and equipped with technologically-driven equipment including silicone rubber injection moulding, gravity cast aluminium and ductile iron foundries, helical wire form production plant, fibreglass reinforced polymer core pultrusion plant, as well as state-of-the-art tool and die development and manufacturing.

The purpose of the role is to drive sustainable financial growth through boosting sales, forging strong relationships with customers and implementing a strategic sales plan that expands the company’s customer base and ensures its strong presence in both local and international markets.

Minimum Qualifications
· BSc Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and a business-related qualification in Sales or relevant field.

Experience Required
· Minimum of five (5) years’ sales management experience in the medium voltage, high voltage and/or rail electrical sector preferably to electrical and rail utility companies; and
· Demonstrable experience of developing, executing sales plans and achieving sales built on targeted strategies preferably into Sub Saharan Africa.

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Primary duties and responsibilities:
· Primarily focused on developing sales into new geographies and to new customers particularly in Sub Saharan Africa;
· Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying and implementing the integration of new markets and company agents with company strategies and operations;
· Examines risks and potentials for the business opportunities and potential in-country agents;
· Develop and maintain department risk register;
· Translate Company strategy into department plans;
· Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction;
· Conduct research to identify new markets (local and international), customer needs and potential in-country agents to support the sales growth;
· Builds market position by locating, developing, defining, and closing business relationships with both potential customers and in-country sales agents and driving sales;
· Arrange and conduct business meetings with prospective clients and in-country agents;
· Visit the utilities in the various countries and present the products and capabilities of the company, addressing or predicting clients’ objectives;
· Developing quotes and proposals for clients;
· Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; and integrating contract requirements with business operations;
· Keep records of sales, revenue, invoices etc. and submits detailed monthly reports of sales activities;
· Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support;
· Maintaining current client relationships and identifying and securing potential new clients for the company;
· Developing new sales areas and improving sales through various methods including relationships with Development Finance Institutions to unlock potential RSA funded infrastructure projects in Africa that would include company products;
· Researching trends and creating new opportunities to increase sales through the development of new products with the technology team of the company;
· Collaborating with the technology, production and finance teams to ensure requirements are met, such as customer technical requirements, sales numbers and profit goals;
· Maintaining a strong understanding of products and services, and innovating new ways to serve customer businesses; and Internal and External Advert for General Manager – Sales (VX/GMS/01)
· Leading the company’s sales team based on a high-performance culture and develop KPIs and IDPs.

Job Qualification & Experience:
