Reports to CFO (work closely with the Operations Director)
Total staff compliment: 6. Internal function – no interaction with customers.
Primary purpose: The Financial Manager provides the Chief Finance Officer with extensive support in the management of all financial activities. The Financial Manager will be required to travel at least one week per month and will be expected to interact with diverse teams in various locations.
Financial accounting and reporting responsibilities: Prepare the monthly management reporting packs in the preparation of quarterly consolidated results for the company and the annual consolidated results. To be responsible for preparing the quarterly board pack and to assist the subsidiary companies with their board packs.
Financial analysis: To provide regular and insightful financial analysis and territory performance, developing appropriate KPIs and making business suggestions from the results. To closely monitor costs using quality analysis to manage and put pressure on the various business areas to manage and controls costs downwards where possible.
Financial systems and procedures: Manage the financial systems used and continuously develop the environment to provide a fit-for-purpose, efficient system with excellent operational business reporting outputs. Maintain the Financial Policies and Procedures Manual and conduct regular reviews/audits (at least twice a year) to ensure that each section is being adhered to.
Taxation: Prepare the tax returns for the company and any other entities acquired. Monitor tax compliance and tax efficiency across all companies. Review and identify tax risks across the group.
Budgeting process: Lead the annual budget process and the preparation of a 3-year strategic plan. Once approved by the Board, ensure that the budget is fully implemented and performance against it tracked.
Internal audit function: To internally audit each company at least twice a year and follow up on the action plans through to completion.
Loan/debt book: Manage the day-to-day relationship with the debt financers. Insurance: Manage the group’s insurance position through an appropriate broker.

Skills, knowledge & competencies required to perform this role:
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. Good presentation skills. High level of drive, entrepreneurial team player, willing to contribute in multiple ways in a diverse, volatile “up-and-down” market that presents challenges. Strong quantitative skills, analytical, comfortable in contributing to the execution of the financial strategy. Strategic thinker, able to see the big picture and to operationalise the company’s strategy through a robust financial model. Strong integrity, ethics and firm understanding of corporate responsibility reporting. Analytical ability to consider complex information and make an informed recommendation to the Group CFO. Advanced knowledge of Excel and ability to perform complex financial modelling and financial analysis. Sensitive to cultural differences with the ability to understand and adapt to these as a means for increasing the probability of success in all interactions. Sound working knowledge of MS PowerPoint and Word. Ability to work across functionalities and divisions. Ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of decision makers.
At least 7-10 years’ proven experience in a commercial environment and in a financial leadership role where interaction with internal stakeholders was a requirement.
