Position details:

Type: Permanent
Reports to: Executive: Finance.
Key performance areas:

  • To direct and coordinate financial activities and facilitate financial reporting enforcing IFRS compliance.
  • Ensure that all finances are properly administered and monitored.
  • Compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Coordination and control of internal and external audits.
  • Financial administration and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain sound financial policies, practices and procedures, and ensure diligent implementation.
  • Maintain the company’s treasury functions, which will include cash management, cash flow reporting and funding functions.
  • Tax and capital management.
  • Ensure that all financial reporting obligations are met.
  • Manage and develop staff in finance department.

Job Qualification & Experience:

  • B.Com or an industry-related qualification relevant to the role NQF 6.
  • B.Com (Hons) and/or a CA(SA).
  • Five years commercial experience, of which three years must be in a financial management position in the mining industry.
  • In depth understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and South African Tax legislation.
  • Knowledge of Unincorporated Joint Ventures.
  • Innovative use of basic systems.
  • Advanced level of computer literacy (Microsoft Office suite).
  • Excel financial modelling skills.
  • Knowledge and application of SAP BPC, COGNOS, Pastel, JDEdwards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team leadership abilities.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities.
