Job Description:
One of South Africa’s leading manufacturing companies in the automotive industry, recognized globally for their quality and innovation, is looking for a Factory Cost Analyst.
Position details:
Type: Permanent
Primary purpose: The role will mainly focus on inventory accuracy and management together with analysis, reporting and data collection. The ideal candidate would be familiar with a manufacturing environment and have previous costing experience on SAP R/3.
Responsibilities:
General
– External and internal audits: supporting and preparing related schedules as required
– Supporting and partnering with stakeholders / departments (Plant Controller, Management Accountant, Supply Chain, other management)
Specific
- Inventory & Production
Ensuring completeness and accuracy of the stock with reference to, but not limited to:
– BOM’s
– Routings
– Classifications
– Stock counts
– Production
– Stock movements
– Valuations:
o Moving average costs
o Standard costs
o Slow moving stock / stock obsolescence
– Participate in stock counts (1 weekend every month)
– Liaise with Supply Chain (Stores, Procurement) & Production departments to ensure any errors are corrected within the weekly cut offs
- Analysis & Reporting
– Developing and maintain master statistics:
o Production as per the various classifications
o Sales
– Building data / stats that will lead to better management or root cause analysis for the Finance department
– Analyse, investigate and report on the costs and variances of production and stock within the business to optimize profitability of the organization
– Analysing production to ensure accuracy
– Actuals versus Budgets
– Understanding the Virtual Plant Model system and keeping it up to date
– Preparing a monthly customer profitability report by part number
o Identify potential negative margin or loss-making part number
– Analysis and corrections of expenses, cost centres
– Key expense analysis
– Daily, weekly and monthly dashboards & reports
– Contributing to the monthly Management Accounts Pack
– Developing supporting data / reports for the monthly rolling Forecasts and annual Budgets / AOP
– Completing the monthly SIOPS actual upload into Hyperion
- Fixed Assets
– Manage of the Fixed Assets Register
– Special off SAP register to be developed and managed for Dies / Moulds
o Develop a process for Die / Mould management and tracking to ensure best practice Accounting Standards
– Ensure all documentation is filed
– Conduct monthly meetings and review CWIP
– Conduct annual Fixed Assets verification counts
– Accuracy and adherence to the corporate policies
- Responsible for Month end
– Month end check list
– Preparing cut off procedures
– Costing Runs
– Stock Reconciliations
– General Ledger Reconciliations
- Compliance and internal Control
– Adherence to local and group policies. Improve & strengthen the internal control environment & governance within Finance and the JOH Plant.
- Other
– External and Internal Audits: supporting and preparing related schedules as required
– Identify areas of improvement in finance, inefficiencies with solutions,
– Meeting with department managers, getting them to understand their department costs and checking for errors.
– Supporting and partnering with stakeholders / departments (Plant Controller, Management Accountant, Supply Chain, Other Management)
– Very structured and good planning skills
– Ability to work well under pressure and extended overtime
– Map out processes, develop & improve them. Rollout and communicate processes to responsible process owners
– Assist with the annual budgeting process by providing relevant historical schedules / analysis
– Vendor and Customer Master Data control
– Execute ad-hoc investigations and evaluations of projects or new initiatives, to ensure continuous improvement and that business cases are achieved

Job Qualification & Experience:
Diploma in costing accounting / CIMA Intermediate Level / BCom Degree
8 years of experience in Manufacturing environment/Automotive Industry
