My client is a leader in astronomy and highly optimised reflectors within South Africa. Their production facility is based within the Western-Cape and their head office is based in Stellenbosch. They currently have an opportunity available at their head office. This innovative engineering company is currently looking to recruit a Facilities & Operations Coordinator.
The successful incumbent will need to have Matric, a relevant tertiary qualification or 2 years of experience within a technical environment, with experience on more than one of the following: building caretaking, handyman tasks, project or supplier administration, clerk tasks and task management.
Primary purpose: Take charge and oversee all activities related to maintenance and upgrades of infrastructure, facilities and other assets.
Job description / core competencies:
Fixing minor issues in appliances or arranging for repairs when needed.
Arrange for regular maintenance of equipment and internal systems (e.g. air-conditioning systems and security systems).
Regularly check rooms and furniture to identify needs for repairs or renovations.
Keeping all stakeholders updated on relevant activities and requirements.
Monitor activities that happen outside the building, such as proper waste disposal and recycling and garden maintenance, etc.
Fix minor malfunctions in office equipment.
Keep track of regular and ad-hoc facility expenses.
Conduct market research and compare costs and benefits when evaluating new vendors.
Keep record of invoices from external partners (e.g. suppliers, contractors).
Research new services and appliances to facilitate operations.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Assist with the administration of projects related to the maintenance and upgrades of infrastructure, facilities and other assets.
Assist with general operational requirements of the business.
Provide administrative support.
