Job Description:

Multi-outlet group of companies across various sectors including food and retail is currently looking for an expat Lead Training Coach Manager to be based in Accra, Ghana. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of training coaches that will drive operational capability by enabling continuous learning, conducting capability assessments and providing training interventions and workshops for restaurant teams across a geographic area.

The ideal candidate will have a National Diploma in a related field along with 5 years’ experience in a training and facilitating role and previous proven experience in being able to deliver functional training to a group of people. Previous Food Franchise Training experience a must.

Position details:
Type: 2 year Contract
Reports to: Vice President/Business head.
Primary purpose: Leading a team of training Coaches that will drive operational capability by enabling continuous learning, conducting capability assessments and providing training interventions and workshops for restaurant teams across a geographic area.

Job description / core competencies:

  • Focused Training Coach Audits In-Store and In-Store Capability Assessments, this includes Identifying and assessing future and current training needs
  • Providing on-the-job coaching, training interventions and workshops such as drawing an overall or individualized training and development plan
  • Management and development of training coaches
  • Identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals and consultation with line managers
  • Deploy and/or customise a wide variety of training methods
  • Ensure effective induction and orientation sessions
  • Monitor and evaluate training program’s effectiveness, success and ROI periodically and report on them
  • Manage training budget
  • Provide opportunities for ongoing development
  • Resolve any specific problems and tailor training programs as necessary
  • Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices

Focused Training Coach Audits In-Store and In-Store Capability Assessment

  • Responsible for delivery of accurate forecasting and scheduling upskilling sessions and assessments including deployment during peak periods
  • Responsible for delivery of customer and sales readiness upskilling sessions and assessments including peak planning during peak periods
  • Responsible for delivery of high energy (customer mania) upskilling sessions and assessments
  • Responsible for practical compliance upskilling and assessments
  • Responsible for practical profit upskilling and assessments
  • Responsible for practical delivery service upskilling and assessments

Co-ordination and execution of People calendar for designated geographic areas

  • Delivery and assessment of Windows Promotions Implementation on Learning Zone Portal
  • Delivery of team member basics completion and practical implementation
  • Ensure the effective utilisation of the champions standards library
  • Ensure effective utilisation of observation checklists (OCLs)
  • Plan & facilitate the training workshops required for Developing Champions and LMR DP
    • DC Orientation & Module Trainer (LAS, LAR, LARC)
    • All courses contained in the training continuum
  • Work closely with stores to coordinate the training logistics and training room
  • Facilitate trainers required for the workshop: SME’s, TRGMS (Training Restaurant General Managers), External Consultants and Area Coaches (LMR DP)
  • Follow up in restaurant on any national product or system roll outs required and the training cascade
  • Manage the training centres within the geography to budget
  • Participate in centralised orientation & recruitment days (ensuring maximum learning retention through experiential techniques and demonstration of HWWT2 culture)
  • Participate in recruitment days, including post-session feedback & reporting

People Leadership and Other:

  • Leading people within the team to deliver required customer service, performance management of team, motivation and driving to achieve individual & development goals
  • Ensure that training coaches renders the right service first time and that they understand the operational concerns
  • Develop required training programmes and workshops in line with requirements from business

Develop RGM training and people development competence

  • To work with Area Coaches and HRBP’s to select the correct number and calibre of Training RGMs required
  • Assist with Assessment Centres (For restaurant management as required)
  • To onboard and develop Training RGMs, and to provide coaching on how to provide training required

Manage Developing Champions and Learning Technologies

  • Take ownership for management of training for internal/external management
  • Take ownership for management of training for internal Module Trainers
  • Meet with management trainees to review their training, knowledge & skills during their training
  • Coordinate and facilitate development record sign offs
  • Drive learning technologies in restaurant, monitoring competence, utilisation and learning outcomes

Job Qualification & Experience:

Related Experience Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Min 5 years’ experience in a training and /facilitating role
  • A National Diploma in a related field
  • Experience in Learning Zone at any franchise restaurant groups
  • Previous proven experience in being able to deliver functional training to a group of people
  • Good understanding of the current operational training landscape
