Job Description:

Governance Functions are achieved and that all risks originating from an Engineering Functionality is mitigated.
The Engineering Manager is fully accountable and responsible to ensure the Engineering Governance Function is executed within in the Company either by delegating responsibility to his/her subordinates and/or by contracting the relevant skills required to meet both the business specific and contract specific requirements.

The Engineering Manager plans, directs, and coordinates the activities of the maintenance, tooling, and engineering departments.

The Engineering Manager initiates and drives innovation by identifying, evaluating and study global trends in the protected mobility field.

Position details:
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Primary purpose
Ensure all Engineering Procedures and Processes are well documented and can be utilized easily for and program/project where it is required.
Ensuring the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process is implemented correctly to endure full Engineering Compliance and traceability.
Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Collaborates with other managers and leadership to set and assess priorities across teams.
Assesses cost effectiveness and feasibility of design and products; makes and implements recommendations to reduce costs and improve product maturity.
Supervises designs and design reviews, ensuring all work is performed and according to best engineering practices and safety standards.
Provides guidance and oversight in development of new products and systems.
Assists the Operations Manager and/or other appropriate leadership with design and documentation.
Ensures compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and guidelines, including EPA and OSHA requirements.
Prepares and implements the departmental budget.

Job Qualification & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering will be advantageous.
Project Management experience
Experience within Defense Industry
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Engineering Management
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Engineering Development projects
Working knowledge of MS Office, CAD, Configuration Software, ERP
