Job Description:

A pump manufacturing client is currently looking for an independent contracting Kenyan National Sales Consultant to be responsible for providing pumping solutions to existing and prospective customers within the East African region.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree/diploma/pump-related courses, minimum 5 – 10 years’ sales experience within the pumping industry and 5 – 10 years’ demonstrable track record of success in sales. Able to operate with credibility at senior levels (typically the Head of Business Unit), but also comfortable spending time with technical experts. Ability to meet and exceed targets set targets.

Primary purpose: The East Africa Sales Consultant is responsible for providing pumping solutions to existing and prospective customers within the East African region. The incumbent is responsible for the management and development of the targeted East African Countries, including targeted mining companies in the DRC, with the main objective of maximizing the company’s product influence in the marketplace. He or she must be capable of achieving personal & business targets whilst contributing to overall profitability, success and the positive image of the company.
Job description / core competencies:

Consistently achieve agreed targets by conducting the following:

  • Execute the technical strategy for consulting engineers, wastewater, petroleum, mining and end-users to differentiate company’s product offering.
  • Execute a calling procedure for all consulting engineers in the municipal, mining; industrial, construction and petroleum markets.
  • Maximize current company business by developing and implementing a strategy to penetrate existing markets with existing products.
  • Expand current company business by implementing a strategy to develop new markets with existing products.
  • Develop existing markets with new Company and/or non-aligned products.
  • Collaborate with company design and operations teams to develop accurate and detailed drawings for submittal to customers.
  • Assist Regional Manager with setting up of shows and exhibitions in East Africa Region.
  • Oversee project’s life cycle from conception to completion, with an emphasis on technical and commercial efficiency.
  • Ensure customers are satisfied.
  • Be positively rated in terms of customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Manage customer perceptions of the business.

  • Forecast accurately for executive management review.
