Job Description:

Our client, a well-known provider of professional technical and construction services, currently has an opportunity for a Control Systems/Instrumentation Engineer (BSc/B.Eng/B.Tech Electronic Engineering) with 3-5 years of experience with Front End Loading and petrochemical experience; an analytical and meticulous problem solver able to multi-task, work under tight deadlines and cope with frequently changing priorities. 

Job Description 

Provide basic input to process for P&IDs.

Basic preparation of cable schedules that list all cable details and lengths.

Basic preparation of cable route diagrams to indicate cable route in site.

Basic preparation of loop drawings.

Basic preparation of instrumentation designs using software.

Provide basic input to process for valve calculations.

Perform basic instrument datasheets and specifications.

Basic preparation of control system specifications.

Basic preparation of auxiliary systems.

Basic preparation of safeguarding specifications.

Basic preparation of cause & effect diagrams.

Develop C&I content on process flow diagrams.

Basic preparation of technical equipment requisitions required for procurement purposes.

Perform and prepare basic design reviews.

Perform and prepare basic project standard specifications and design criteria.

Perform and prepare basic package engineering on multi-discipline type packages.

Completing tasks in accordance to the specific stages of the engineering design process.

Produce basic C&I scope of work subcontract documents for procurement purposes.

Conduct site visitations to approve work carried out.

Performing research of processes and systems used to understand the C&I design processes.

Assist in collaborating with drafting team to ensure all drawings and designs are in-line with project specifications.

Liaising with various departments to successfully complete the C&I scope of work.

Assist with conducting technical bid analysis.

Assist in reviewing vendor information for technical detail and information.

Assist in providing solutions based on client requirements that are in line with the company’s business model.

Accountability

Adhere & ensure compliance of contracts to national / international standards & specifications.

Adhere to company’s standardised practices, procedures and general work instruction.

Adhere to engineering national standards & specifications.

Adhere to C&I engineering procedures, policies & work instructions.

Adhere to HSE policies & procedures.

Timeous completion of weekly timesheets.

Maintain good ethical behaviour & practices at all times.

Job Qualification & Experience:

Qualifications 

BSc/B.Eng Electronic Engineering

B.Tech (Diploma) Electronic Engineering

Experience

3-5 years (BSc)

5-7 years (B.Tech/Diploma)

EPC / EPCM Environment

Petrochemical, Oil & Gas or Similar Environment

Knowledge

Knowledge & experience with MS Office packages (create spreadsheets, registers, reports, presentations, workflows, etc.)

Knowledge of project requirements as they relate to scope, cost and schedule.

Knowledge of codes of practice relevant to industry.

Knowledge of national and international standards.

Knowledge and application of electronic engineering design & principles.

Knowledge of engineering tools and software.

Knowledge of performing technical evaluation for standard materials.
