Our client, a well-known provider of professional technical and construction services, with revenues of nearly $10 billion, has an opportunity for a C&I Engineer who holds an Electronic Engineering qualification together with 5 – 10 years’ experience in a similar role.
Provide input to process for P&ID’s.
Prepare cable schedules that list all cable details and lengths.
Prepare cable route diagrams to indicate cable route in site.
Prepare loop drawings.
Prepare instrumentation designs using software.
Prepare valve calculations alongside process.
Prepare instrument datasheets and specifications.
Prepare and provide input into control system specifications and generate sections thereof.
Prepare auxiliary systems and generate sections thereof.
Prepare safeguarding specifications, generate sections thereof.
Prepare cause & effect diagrams and generate sections thereof.
Develop C&I content on process flow diagrams.
Prepare technical equipment requisitions required for procurement purposes.
Contribute and participate in design reviews.
Prepare and / or review project standard specifications and design criteria.
Perform package engineering on multi-discipline type packages.
Completing tasks in accordance to the specific stages of the engineering design process.
Produce C&I scope of work subcontract documents for procurement purposes.
Conduct site visitations to approve work carried out.
Perform research of processes and systems used to understand the C&I design processes.
Collaborate with the drafting team to ensure all drawings and designs are in-line with project specifications.
Liaising with various departments to successfully complete the C&I scope of work.
Prepare and perform technical bid analysis and tabulation which will be used to select appropriate vendors.
Review vendor information for technical detail and information.
Provide solutions based on client requirements that are in line with the company’s business model.
Assist in conducting technical / feasibility studies and investigations.
Assist in compiling C&I studies.
Assist in compiling structural load list (weights/Mass) for CSA department.
Attend project progress, interactive planning sessions and kick-off meetings.

Job Qualification & Experience:
BSc/B.Eng Electronic Engineering.
B.Tech (Diploma) Electronic Engineering.
5-7 years (BSc).
7-10 years (B.Tech/Diploma).
EPC / EPCM Environment.
Petrochemical, oil and gas or similar environment.
Exposure to multi-office project experience.
Exposure to multi-project phase experience.
Knowledge and experience with MS Office packages (create spreadsheets, registers, reports, presentations, workflows, etc).
Knowledge of project requirements as they relate to scope, cost and schedule.
Knowledge of Codes of practice relevant to industry.
Knowledge of National and International Standards.
Basic knowledge of electronic engineering design and principles.
Proficient with engineering tools and software.
Knowledge and ability to perform technical evaluations for standard and non-standard (requisitioned) materials.
