Our client, a leading supplier of equipment and services to the global cement and minerals industries, requires a Chief Financial Officer for Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East (SSAME).
Multinational experience would be an advantage, must come from a company size of at lease 1000 full-time employees, ideally within mining, cement, engineering or manufacturing.
Reports to: Regional President for SSAME and to the Group CFO.
Primary purpose: The Regional CFO is a strong, integral member of the SSAME Management Team and reports to the Regional President for SSAME and to the Group CFO (dotted line), in operating the SSAME region.
The primary role of the Regional CFO is to be a strong partner for the Regional President, participating in all strategic meetings, setting targets and implementing changes within the region.
SSAME overall ambition is to increase regional turnover in all business segments and within both Industries (Mining & Cement) and in the same time optimize, transform and redirect business support functions from the region to India or other relevant support centres. As part of the Global Finance team, the Regional CFO ensures that Global KPIs and objectives are fully embedded within the regional strategy and that key initiatives and KPIs are fully aligned. The Regional CFO is a member of the Sub-Saharan Africa and Middle East Management Team.
Full understanding of the regional key business drivers.
Provide primary support for developing and achieving the regional financial targets.
Continuous analysis, monitoring, and communication of the regional progress towards the achievement of all KPIs.
Drive the region’s progress towards achieving sales objectives and cost savings (support functions) proposing corrective actions and sizing where and when required. Follow up on status of corrective actions.
Drive regional financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes ensuring both regional and group objectives are considered and met.
Drive NWC management throughout the region.
Develop business cases to support regional objectives requiring major investments, divestment or sale of activities.
Drive regional internal productivity efforts (i.e. common ERP platform, standardization, product structure, etc.).
Ensure compliant reporting to Group Finance.
Ensure compliance with established group policies and procedures – business risk assessment.
Support global procurement efforts.
Maintain strong internal control environment.
Direct line reporting to Regional President SSAME.
Functionally reporting to the Group CFO (dotted line).
Works closely with industry management, other regional management, business controllers, and group functions.

Job Qualification & Experience:
Qualifications / skills required
Applicant must be a registered Chartered Accountant (South Africa)
Minimum 10 – 15 years working experience (post articles; commercial experience)
Demonstrated excellence in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, control and reporting.
Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
Ability to assess complex situations and use creativity to solve problems.
High level of business acumen.
Sound analytical and decision-making skills.
Deep understanding of business and financial literacy.
