Our client is sourcing a Chief Executive Officer to help execute the company’s plans and directives by implementing judgment, vision, management and leadership in the best interest of the company.

Equipped with state-of-the-art machinery to produce products for the building industry, our client manufacturers a wide range of steel and plastic construction materials and have recently increased productivity to 400 000 tonnes per annum.

Position details:
Type: Permanent

Reports to: Board of Directors

Primary purpose: Assist the board in executing the company’s short-term and long-term plans and directives by implementing judgment, vision, management and leadership in the best interest of the company.

Job description / core competencies

  • At the direction of the Board of Directors, ensuring the company’s limited resources are put to the most productive use with the aim of creating maximum value for the company’s stakeholders.
  • Driving performance measures of the company by translating the company’s strategy into actionable goals and annual operational plans.
  • Developing and cascading the organization’s strategy/mission statement to the lower-ranking staff and implementing appropriate rewards/recognition and coaching/corrective practices to align personnel with company goals.
  • Planning by prioritizing customer, employee, and organizational requirements.
  • Oversee the company’s operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture, ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met.
  • Adhere to company, regional and national legal requirements, enforcing compliance and taking action when necessary.
  • Participating in industry-related events or associations that will enhance the organization’s reputation, and organization’s potential for success.

Responsibilities:

  • Directly oversee the operations of the company by monitoring performance, analysing challenges and together with the team providing solutions to ensure company continuity.
  • Recommend yearly budget for Board approval and prudently manage the organization’s resources within those budget guidelines according to current laws and regulations.
  • Prudently manage the company’s capital investment, sales and expenses to ensure the company achieves investor targets, targeted growth and profitability.
  • Present new ideas and cash flow strategies to the Board of Directors and any other company officers.
  • Maintain and build trusted relationships with key customers, clients, partners and stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective management of the company’s human resources according to authorized personnel policies and procedures that fully conform to current laws and regulations.
  • Ensure the organization and its mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the company’s operations and its administration by advising and informing Board members and interfacing between Board and staff.
  • Measure effectiveness and efficiency of operational processes both internally and externally and find ways to improve processes.
  • Act as a liaison between company and client for quality assurance.
  • Promote communication between colleagues for the benefit of information flow and to curb any problems that arise.
  • Liaise with external agencies such as Ghana Standards, Ghana Electricity, Trade Ministry, Banks and other financial institutions.
  • Any other assignment as may be assigned from time to time

Job Qualification & Experience:

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in a managerial position.
  • Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
  • Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues.
  • A solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics.
  • Be able to diagnose problems quickly and have foresight into potential issues.
  • Understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, Marketing, etc.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business or related field.
