8. Achievements:

In the Technical Buyer role I have been able to remove the backlog of the purchase requisition linked to my purchase group from over 150 on appointment to the current ones. Been able to work collaboratively with the operations team during the Blast furnace outage in August 2020 to ensure that Purchase order are processed timely without delay for the repair work.

  • Initiated the updating of the Master Data in SAP – functional locations, criticality assessment (ABC indicators), planner groups, cost centres for the By Products plant together with the Maintenance Specialist. This resulted in a 75% increase in correct allocation of costs and 50% decrease in optimised maintenance plans (job cards).
  • Successfully optimised the planned maintenance work orders (job cards) by revising the maintenance plans resulting in a 50% decrease.
  • Leading a planning team that launched the SAP sub-store system. The sub-store system led to all spares being visible to everyone in the organisation, allow stock movement between sub-stores and reduced stock taking time by 75%.
  • Increased MTBF & MTTR for the guide car machines significantly after taking ownership.
  • Reduced the purchase requisition backlogs by  65% on my commodities and plants.
