1. Primary purpose of current/most recent position:

The primary purpose of my current role is to maintain SHE reporting systems and establish new ones for the business. To conduct a scoping exercise for new SHE reporting systems, advise heads of environment, safety and health on improvements to internal management and provide guidance on carbon tax.

Data must be reported accurately and timeously. Contributions to meetings (monthly, quarterly and annually) must be done according to guidance provided and within deadlines.

I am a relaxed and personable individual who is capable of building effective relationships with others and believes in a collaborative and cooperative work approach. Despite this I am prepared to take responsibility for supervising and managing work activities. My critical and conceptual reasoning skills are above average, both in a verbal and numerical context, giving me the ability to articulate my thoughts and ideas in an effective manner. It is important to me that I enjoy my work as it promotes self-motivation to achieve the intended goal.

Conduct gap analysis and extended research work in various areas of sustainability.
Coordinate the preparation of the scoping document for a SHE management reporting system and database tool for our operations.
Liaise with discipline heads to ensure key metrics and KPIs remain relevant and data integrity is intact according to internal and external standards and policies.
Coordinate the preparation of S&SD reports for internal use (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual meetings of the board and exec committees).
Monitoring and analysing sustainable development data across our operations.
Ad hoc high-level analysis of data to identify potential external influences on current trends.
Provide intensive support to safety department.
Provide consultative support to environment and health departments.
Redesign SHE templates and implement stringent controls on templates.

CDP submissions over my tenure improved resulting in awards for performance and disclosure.
Coordination of submissions to Dow Jones and BITc resulted in awards to the company and maintaining the company’s high status in rankings with different agencies.
Roll out of new SHE management systems and change management thereof.
