27 years of experience (Lead/Principal Mechanical as well as National HSE Engineering Manager) in the Multi-Disciplinary Engineering Design and Procurement (EP) sector, 95% centred in the petrochemical arena. Recognised as a Rotating Equipment expert, with a wealth of knowledge regarding Fuel Storage and Distribution Facilities, including LPG Gas facilities, with further experience in heavy mineral concentration plants. Passionate about assisting young Engineers with their responsibilities, while also assisting the company with work proposals, project set-up, technical enquiries, bid evaluations and such like activities – most importantly with Multi-Disciplinary Engineering execution.
Extensive experience with packaged plant including: Vapor Recovery (Swing absorption / direct re-compression), Loading Arms, Weighing Systems / Load Cells, Tanks API 650 / 620, Pressure Vessels (SANS 347), Piping Design ASME b31.3 and Fire Engineering Design to SANS 10400. From Cooling Water Split Case Horizontal pumps to Chemical Pumps including Dosing Pumps, (Controlled Volume), various API 610 pump designs, including VS6 designs, Ultra High Pressure to high pressure integrally geared, In-Coulomb In-Tank Liquid Ethylene in cryogenic service to slurry pumps and Seal-less canned motor pumps to mag-drives.

Achievements:
At Royal Haskoning I was the sole Mechanical Engineer responsible for the basic engineering of the Vopak Lesedi fuel storage and distribution tank farm. Upon my return I was appointed as Team Leader responsible for developing a “Winning Work” strategy.
At Aveng I was the Principal Mechanical Engineer on the Moma Sands Heavy Mineral Concentrator (Floating) Plant.
Working as Engineering Manager on the Sunrise Energy LPG Terminal in Saldanha, concluding the balance of Engineering and providing Commissioning Support. I was also the appointed Fire Engineer as appointed by the Fire Chief for this project, which included gas cloud modulation and distribution modelling.
