My involvement in Antarctica provided many opportunities to introduce systems and equipment to simplify operations, and some of the systems I introduced are still being used today.

Systems optimisation and regular maintenance resulted in continuous improvement on engineering availability of plants during my service at Namakwa Sands.

My constant quest for improvement resulted in me developing software systems to reduce reporting time considerably in project planning.

Hiking in the mountains; rock climbing.

Where would you like to be in your career in the next 5 to 10 years, what would you like to have achieved?

Over the next few years, I want to explore and develop skills in project planning/scheduling. In five years, I want to have gained experience in leading projects for major clients. I will be looking for opportunities to expand my responsibilities within this role to work towards my goal.

At Ford, the first Bantam Bakkie was due to be released. On the bakkie there was a vibration noise. I did a vibration check in the workshop and with the help of the University of Pretoria we could resolve the problem and document it.
