1. Primary purpose of current/most recent position:

My primary responsibility is to introduce hard rock crushing solutions to underground mining.
This responsibility entails that I meet regularly with various internal team members both internally and at the Holding company.
I set up introduction meetings with various customers and conduct underground visits to understand the pain points and concerns in that operation.

2. Core elements or functions that must operate effectively in order to achieve primary purpose:

I need to understand the customer’s pain points and identify opportunities for customers who do not necessarily see where a solution or system could be employed.
I need to solve problems that the customer has with a solution or a combination of solutions.
It is key to speak to not only one person in that operation to understand the real problems; this is something that ensures we are not chasing somebody’s personnel agenda but the companies overall agenda and plans.

3. Description of self, along with greater purpose and passions:

I am passionate about what I do, this passion drives me to explore new opportunities and to expand on what is already known. I believe that I think out of the box, this also allows me to place equipment into applications that would not be looked into as a standard.
I am strong-willed and enjoy challenges and working with various teams addressing these challenges

I would like to manage a team of driven members which will allow the team as a whole to achieve its goals.
The goals would be both financial as well as project execution and delivery.

6. Skill area of competence:

I have a strong technical aptitude and come from a tradesman background, this has enabled me to understand my customer’s needs and identify equipment issues.
I have a strong ability to resolve problems and identify opportunities in the mining space. I am very pragmatic and enjoy resolving ongoing issues with my customers. I work exceptionally well with the teams that I am involved and can also work well on my own.

7. Career summary:

My initial responsibility was for equipment sales into the quarrying and recycling segment. This has changed in that I am now involved in all mining aspects, from the small quarries to the large mining houses like Anglo Platinum, Petra diamonds, ARM, etc.

8. Achievements: 

One of my greatest experiences was working with a team at Anglo Platinum where we managed to address a series of concerns that a mine had with the introduction of several technologies. This process took a fair amount of time and involved many role players including the management team at Anglo head office, the mine team, the project team, our own project team, and our German colleagues.

9. What do you absolutely love doing?

I love challenging projects that require problem-solving skills.
I Love dealing with customers directly and engaging with them on-site, this allows me to grow as a person and also allows me to get a better understanding of the customer and their plant.

I enjoy working with a multinational company. I like a semi-formal culture and a culture of teamwork where management is involved in the day-to-day operations that allow and encourage individuals to develop and grow not only for the company but also for themselves.
